The shutter-bug in me couldn’t take it anymore. This afternoon I decided to take the new camera down to the SF Zoo to test it out. Here’s what I came back with:

Wow. I honestly do not know how I’m going to top this one. While at a Barenaked Ladies Concert being held near our apartment, a surprise guest walked up on stage to help them out with a more Polka-y version of “If I Had a Million Dollars.”

They first announced him as “Awkward Al,” jokingly, and I didn’t get it at first, but when I saw a lanky guy jump on stage with an accordion I made a b-line for the stage, it was Wierd Al!

After the concert was over Mr. Yankovic was very nice and patient with everyone, he took pictures, signed autographs and met with the throng of fans off the side of the stage who were excited to see him there.

Anyways, I always hate bugging celebrities for pictures because it’s usually an empty gesture — “Hey, can I have a picture with you, because my friends will be SO jealous!” Most celebrites know exactly where these pics are going: Facebook, MySpace, etc.

I figured I’d make an exception for Weird Al, though. I’ve been a fan for ages. He was very nice and patient with everyone. What a great guy!

Well it was a blast; more fun than I could have imagined. Going to Macworld has been a goal of mine since I switched completely to Macs back in 2005, and now that goal has been reached and I’m officially hooked. Book my registration for next year because I am definitely going again!

For our last two days at Macworld, Adams and I perused the show floor looking for interesting things to blog about, I also put up a quick little montage video of our time in line as well as some of the highlights of the show floor over at PopFi.com. The highlights for me came on my last day at Macworld. I finally met the man who inspired me to start up my own podcasts. Mr. Podcasting himself: Leo Laporte. (Blog) I have been a fan of Leo since his ZDNet and TechTV days, and I can tell you this much, he is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. We chatted a bit about podcasting and I snapped a photo with him.

I also met up with the guys from Libsyn, a podcasting bandwidth provider whom we use for all of our podcasts. They were great to meet with as well, and I think we’re going to be working closely together on some exciting stuff for our podcasts in the future.Thats all for now folks, if you want to see more of my pictures head over to my Flickr!

I am officially in San Francisco awaiting the 2008 Macworld Expo. This will be my first ever Macworld and I am psyched. I usually only follow the event vicariously through blogs and pictures, so walking around the Moscone center this afternoon was a big rush for me.

There are Apple ads everywhere, also there are peculiar banners hanging all around that say, “2008, There’s something in the air.” That makes me wonder what Steve has up his sleeve for the keynote Tuesday morning.

Tomorrow morning Adams and I are headed to the Moscone center around 7am to grab our badges and begin perusing the exhibit hall floor. There are also several parties going late in the evening. I’m planning to make an appearance at the Ars Technica/Gizmodo party just to check it out.
